KHATO CIVILS ALREADY AHEAD OF TIME WITH THE MASAMA WATER PIPELINE PROJECT

• currently 369 locals from the (affected nearby villages) employed

• Currently more than 500 Batswana engaged for the project, and more will continue to be engaged as the project progresses

• 36% women employed for the project

• 61% youth employed for the Masama-Mmamashia pipeline project

•a number of students who are doing engineering at university, have also been given a chance to be part of this project through Khato Civils as a way of empowering them

• proper and quality equipment mobilized for the project by Khato Civils, to ensure the project is finished within the 12 months set (4 tenchers on site already)

• 30% (230million) of the total cost of the project allocated to a local company already as they continue to work with local companies

• workers paid well...the average wage for a labourer is P1 500 but at Khato they are taking home P3 000 average

Yesterday the minister responsible for Water, Kefentse Mzwinila led the ground breaking ceremony for the project where it was revealed that the 100km pipeline project is already at 34% project progress against the expected 32%.
